Naamsverandering, Laundromat Dampoort, Ghent, 90’
Wrapped in clothes from my childhood I lay down on a row of washing machines.You see a mirror above. It says in letters that are written with a black pen: “ Was Joke Decorte now Johanna van Overmeir”. Across the mirror there is a wall with papers that document the process of namechanging. In the background you hear a number of the musician Hugh Hoper mixed with my own voice. Slowly , unnoticebale , I move to the left. While moving, I loose my clothes. When reaching the end of the washing table I stand up, put on a cocktail dress and leave the washing room.
